prayers for Hurricane victims

Well I am not much on blogging but I feel for those of you that keep up, I would like to ask for you to pray for those that are going to be affected by Hurricane Gustav. It is a Cat.4 and going to be a Cat 5 and predicted to hit the central coast of Louisiana. This adds to the problem in New Orleans. I was there in 2005 and saw the destruction and what it did to the people in Louisiana. There are alot of really good people there that need our support and prayers. They are trying to get out better this time but this storm is only a couple of days away.
Also they are having evacuations already to Middle Tn of the nursing home patients and some hospitals. The Tn national guard and local EMS and hospitals and coordinating agencies are taking care of these people.
So remember tonight and tomorrow and in days to come, be thankful for what we have and pray for those that are not so fortunate. Pray for those who are just now getting re-built and are still building.

It looks as if I may possibly have to go back and help again and will do so gladly if asked. If I do please pray for me and our team as we go into these devastated areas to help those that are sick and injured and try to set up medical facilities.

Pray for my family as I am usually gone for 2 weeks at a time and they need support with me not being around. They support me in everything I do. Thank you Donna, Brady and Hannah. I Love you all....... :-)

Wow another week has gone by!!

It's hard to believe another week has past. We have been so busy.
Here's just a recap of our week:
Monday - We celebrated a friends birthday and played in the creek. Of course after some school work was done.
Tuesday - Worked hard on our school work and got the church ready for our Fall Coop Kick Off.
Wednesday - We had a great time! We Kicked off our Fall Coop which went great. Played with friends at MacDonald's we needed the down time. Went to church early to cook for the kids and had a wonderful time at church. We skipped school today - we know when enough is enough for one day. lol
Thursday - We held the coop steering com. meeting at our house. All the kids played - Kenny was great enough to help us watch them all (7) so we could talk peacefully (Thanks Kenny). We had a great time and settled all the issues and concerns without any major problems. YEA!
Later Kenny and Brady went to the MTSU Football game. They needed a treat and they both had a great time. Hannah and I went to soccer practice and hung out at home. Peaceful relaxation!
Friday - Kenny had a class at work and came home in the afternoon. The kids and I stayed home all day - though I was on the phone most of the day we had a great relaxing day.
Today - We went to see Wall-E at the movies. This was a treat for us because we rarely go to the movies. We've had a great day just spending time together! Oh one more thing poor little Hannah is struggling with a loose tooth ?? Will she finially lose it tonight?? I guess we will have to wait and see.
Well today was Kenny's last day of vacation so he's back to work tomorrow. We have really enjoyed having him home and we will really miss him while he is at work. Next week we plan to get back to school and really work hard to learn lots of new things and have fun together.
Thanks for checking on us and we hope you have a great Sunday! See you at Church!

Weekend is gone and we are off starting another week.....

Time seems to go by so quickly these days. Over the weekend we went out with some friends. We went to eat and the the Rodeo. I have never been to the rodeo but I really enjoyed going. What I really enjoyed was doing something fun and spending time with another family we don't get to do that very often. Sure I take the kids and we hang out with friends - like today we are planning a trip to the creek to celebrate a friends birthday we are so excited - but it is different when we have the chance to go as a family. Kenny misses out on so much while he is at work -it just makes it all the more special when he can hang out with us. Well I'm off to another busy and packed day - lessons to do, food to cook, cleaning up and then cleaning up again, oh and we are going to the creek to play, celebrate and just have fun. What a wonderful day God has laid out for us.
Thanks for checking in on us - we hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day.

Why worry ?? It's Friday !!

Well I have never really been a worrier. But as I get older and have more responsibility - a house, two kids and bills - I tend to worry more. Knowing that God will always take care of us and everything we need I feel bad if I catch myself worrying about things I know he will see me though. God is Good and even Great if you let him worry for you.

Well we are off to another great Homeschooling day. On Friday's we try to get our lessons done early so we can spend the day having fun. In science we are talking about sound. Today we are going to make a kinda guitar and see how different sizes of rubber bands sound. The kids love making any kind of project it doesn't have to be big just fun. Hannah really got ahead in spelling this week she took her test on Tues. and also completed next weeks lesson. She'll be happy - no test for her today!!! Brady has been doing great in math. We have been reviewing for the last couple of weeks and soon we will start his 4th grade work. Please pray with me that he continues to do well.
Thanks for checking on us and we hope you all have a great weekend,
Donna

Hannah is 7 years old ! I can't believe it !

Today is Hannah's birthday she is 7 yrs. old. She has grown so fast it is hard to believe she is already 7. She has already had her party a few weeks ago so today she gets to pick what she wants to eat, play and watch on T.V. She picked biscuit and jelly, pancakes and eggs for breakfast and lunch is a little late today so we haven't got there yet, but for supper she wants waffles. Can you tell she loves sugar!! It's her day and she only gets one a year to be all hers so we are going let the sugar roll. Her and Brady played outside on the Slip-in-Slide and with the water guns. Right now she must be wore out she is cuddled in blankets watching T.V. I'm sure she will be running soon she doesn't stay down for long.
We are so blessed to have healthy and happy kids. God is so good to us!
Again HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HANNAH !!
We love you little Pris.

con't.....

God is working in our hearts leading and guiding us. I was saved and baptized as a young child. Going through all the steps of being saved but I was so young that I didn't turn my heart totaly over to the Lord. As years past I felt lead to choose a path but the one I was on wasn't for me. God saved me and I truely gave my life to him around age 18 but I didn't follow in baptism. So tonight at our last revival services of the week I will baptized to follow the Lord's commandment that baptism must come after we are saved. It is not a true baptism if you are not truely saved first. Kenny and I are now joined in trusting in the Lord to lead and guide our lives. God is so good.
I am so thankful that God tells me when something is not right and then shows me how to fix it.
Please keep me in your prayers as I dig deeper and try harder follow God's ways and not my own.
I am thankful for the love of God.

Starting fresh ....

As a family I feel that we need to start fresh and get out of some old habits and really start some new ones. God has really been working on our family over the past few weeks. Kenny has gotten saved and truly turned his life over to the Lord. Praise the Lord !! I feel that this is a time for us to rededicate our lives and our family to the service of the Lord. Please keep us in your prayers. I am so excitied about the life God has ahead for us. He has blessed me so much with a loving family and the ability to homeschool my children. With Kenny and I both truly working and living for the Lord I can't image how wonderful life will be for us.
We will post more of our homeschooling days but for now this is the big news from our family.
Thanks for checking on us,
Donna

Shaken....

Sometimes there are things that happen in your life that are so dramatic that you cannot ignore them. Well, that is what has happened this week. After much soul searching and prayer that has been what has happened to me. I realized that you can be as sincere and kind as anyone else but still traveling down the wrong path......Things have happened this week that have shaken me to my very core and changed my life in a way that only the great almighty, God our Father could. He has revealed to me that it was time for a drastic change and that is what is going to happen. He, through some very great men has given me new life and has shown me that being misled my Satan is very easily done and it is easy to fall into a state of complacency and fool yourself into believing something that is not true. Thinking that all is well when it is not and letting yourself believe that and talking yourself out of giving all of yourself to God. Thinking that just because you surround yourself with Godly people that you are Godly too. Not the case.......I challenge anyone that reads this to examine your self as I have had to do.......Lay all pride aside submit to God no matter what anyone else thinks and you too will be blessed for it as I have.

What a revival !

Yesterday was the start of a revival at our church. I haven't been to a revival in a long time. I really enjoyed E. Bill Sturm he is a strait to the point spirit lead preacher. I am so excited about hearing him more. Thanks to some great friends we are going to be able to get our kids to soccer and go to the revival. Praise the Lord for friends that are willing to help even with the small things it means so much.

Well here at the start of a new day who knows what the Lord will bless us with today. All I know is I am looking forward to a wonderful day with my family (Kenny is on vac. for two weeks so he is going to be around to help out alot.)

Gotta get started,

Donna

Lazy Saturday's

We have had the best day relaxing and spending time together.
The Lord has really blessed our family even when we don't deserve it.
It is easy to take for granted all the Lord does for us but days like today
make me think "Do I thank him enough?" I know I can't ever thank him
enough for the blessing he's freely gives me but am I truly Thankful.
My prayer is that I grow more thankful everyday and let him truly
lead me. Well you know when you are giving God glory the devil can't
stand it - My kids that have been great all day are now in their beds for
being ugly to each other. God is in control and my kids will learn to
play peacefully one day. Well we are off to a last min. family picnic at the
park. Sometimes these last min. deals are the best.
Hey !! The devil didn't win Brady is feeling better already and said he is sorry.
Calm and relaxed just the way I love it!
