Sunday

I love Sunday's! Usually it is a day for rest and spending time with family and friends. Though part of today I spent doing just that the other part I had a mess. This morning before Church I thought I would hang up some clothes in the closet - harmless right - well as I went on to the next job that needed attention I heard a big crash. I knew before I looked what had happened.
I knew that someday that rod would say enough is enough - You have to many clothes - lots that you don't even wear. Get rid someone else could be putting them to good use. So after Church, lunch at Mom's and a friends birthday party I came home to a mess. By the way the birthday party was great - Her girl had a Girls Birthday Band - they were so cute. We had cake and ice cream of course - my kids always love that. Even though Hannah didn't want to leave we had to come home a face the mountain of clothes waiting for us.
It's good to go though things every so often because we really don't realize all the stuff we pile up over time. I think God is just telling me Clean up Get rid and Be happy. Sometimes we can get so cluttered in our lives that we miss out on the joy of living and God's grace. I pray that I will be more thankful, helpful to my friends and joyful. God loves me and you what more do we need.

Keep looking ahead and loving each other
and God will take care of us,
Donna

What a Blessed day!!

Even though today has had its share of bumps I still feel so blessed. As I have talked to several other homeschool moms today I have thought about how really blessed we are. Our day started early (well early for us anyway) we completed most of our bookwork before we went to the Library Storytime at 10:30. The kids have a great time as they get to see their friends and do lots of fun stuff. After leaving the library we had to run some errands - where the kids were pretty good so they got a treat. Yeah!
To continue our great day we had lunch at the Jungle Jym with some friends. While we were there we got to talk with a new homeschooler who was asking about our group. She didn't know how the group would feel because she doesn't go to church. We talked for a while and I tried to make her feel welcome to our group and she seemed excited because she doesn't have family in town and she doesn't have alot of supporters in her decision to HS. I feel God leads people where they need to be and also leads people where they are needed. I pray this group can be a light for this family and minister to them in the coming year. We had a great time playing and being outside the weather is great - but we had to come home. We had to finish out lessons, rest and get ready for soccer. The kids are both really enjoying playing soccer. Brady really loves it they have won every game and he continues to improve as he plays more. I am so glad he has found something he enjoys and with practice he will improve.

Well we are winding down now getting baths, snacks and ready for bed. Resting up for a great day tomorrow - Lord willing! We may go on a hike with some friends and oh what fun that will be - then we have family night at the park. Good times :o)
Blessings,
Donna

Well Kenny's off again!!

Kenny got a call last night and is now on his way back the LA. While we are very excited about the work he is going to do and the mission he has been asked to go on we will miss him like crazy. He has only been home for about 2 days so we have barely had time to see him. As I told him before he left as long as we keep busy we will be ok but its on those slow and lazy days that really make it hard. So my goal is to keep very busy and hope the time passes quickly.

Today we went to the Farm Bureau Day at the fairgrounds. Its lots of fun. We had almost 30 kids there!! YEA!! I am so excited about the group we seem to be having lots of great activities for the kids and I really enjoy seeing everyone too. Tomorrow is our 2nd co-op day and I am really looking forward to a great day.

Well I am off to help with school work if we don't get started we will not get done today. With our trip this morning and Kenny leaving we haven't even started yet. Tonight we have revival so we better get to it.

Thanks for checking in on us,
and please keep us in your prayers,
God bless you,
Donna

Wow - what a day!

Today was our first day of the WCCH Fall Co-op and it was great! As far as I know everyone had a good time with no major issues. YEA! We have 56 kids enrolled with 8 classes offered. I know my kids loved their classes - Brady has First Aid and Guitar in FA he learned about CPR ( he had to tell us all about it tonight) Hannah has Pirates and Art in P - they are learning about the continents and in Art they made a cool silhouette. It's days like this that make homeschooling great. When we can get together with others who share in our passion for HS its like a moral boost. I love to see all the kids thriving and learning together. That makes all the work so worth it. After co-op we had worked so hard so we decided to take a brake and go play with some friends. Why not - the kids were being good and most of our school work was done. I enjoy visiting and talking as much as they love to play - so we all had a great time.
Even though I am tired and sleepy after this very busy day I feel so blessed to be able to teach and mold my children - lead them and love them - all day everyday!! We are so BLESSED!!
God bless,
Dona

Happenings !!

Well yesterday Kenny was deployed to LA for H-Ike. He left here around 9am we are not sure how long he will be gone but around 2 wks is normal for a deployment. We really miss him. Even though he works alot it's different when he's so far away and we know he is going to be gone for a while. I talked to him today - he's doing good - working 12 hour shifts. He said they are pretty busy so he's workin hard. With Ike's path still up in the air he really doesn't know where he will go or for how long. He keeps me updated though so that makes me feel better at least I know where he is. :) Well here at home we have been trying to keep busy - yesterday was good we went to the fair for lunch and met some friends - walked thru the petting zoo and other animals. Afterwards we went by mom's and the kids went for a swim - I figured it would be to cold soon so why not let em swim. Today on the other hand we have not left the house its like we got up and done a little school work and not much else. The kids have played and had a great time and been pretty good all day but for me I've just been kinda bored and lazy. We all need a day of rest sometimes so today has been my day. Tomorrow we have loads of stuff on our list and I'll be glad to get out of the house and run around alittle. With so much going on this week I don't think I'll be bored and lazy long. ....Fair, Church, School Fair Day and Camping this weekend Yeah!! I'm so excited!!
Thanks for ckecking on us hope your having a wonderful day,
Donna

Field Trip Day!

Today we went with our local group (WC Christian Homeschoolers) to tour the County Airport.
One of the other moms set this up for the group and we had a great time. We learned about how airplanes fly, work and how they are stored in the hangers. It was lots of fun. Afterwards those that wanted stayed to eat lunch and even some of us that didn't get lunch together stayed around to talk. We joked that we needed the socialization more than our kids did. It was great to just hang out and talk with others going though some of the same issues that we are. Though I LOVE homeschooling and wouldn't change our decision. We still have those days we need alittle support and understanding from others. What better support than others who are also
homeschooling. I thank God that we have the freedom to have a christian group where we can support and love each other. It has been such a blessing to me to have others with the same thoughts and values as me and my family. Without the support and encouragement we get from each other I know for me it would be harder at times to keep up and keep things fun. Its great knowing that there's help and encouragement when I need it. Well enough about that! We had a great time today! This afternoon we played at the jungle jym for hours - the kids loved playing with there friends and I had a great time visiting with other moms. As you can probably tell we didn't make it to any book work today but that's ok. We worked hard all week and had a play day today. That's the great thing about homeschooling everyday is a learning day even if we don't open a book. Lots of things can be learned on field trips and playing with friends.
I'll be writing this down as another great homeschooling day for us. Though its not been perfert - what is - I've loved every minute with the kids today. That's what matters most anyway right.
God Bless,
Donna

Homeschooling and lovin it !!

Today has been one of those days where you think "If every homeschooling day was this good WOW" Though its not been perfect we have had lots of fun. Finished all of our work before 2:00 and we have the rest of the afternoon to just hang out.
Today we completed our Science Lifepac on Sounds and how we hear. We have really enjoyed doing different experiments about sound.
We have also been working on Art for the Fair. Hannah has a painting and a color drawing -Brady has a color drawing.
For the last couple of weeks we have been working on learning the Old Testament Bible Books, we are working on the last few books before we can move on to the New Testament. It is amazing how much little ones can remember (when they want to) - it is hard for me to remember the order of the bible books but helping them has helped me !!!
As we finish alot of our review work and get started on new things I hope we can have many more great days!!
