Fall is great!

Times are so busy right now - Homeschooling it's self is time consuming, Co-op classes, church and we have a Fall Fest coming up Wednesday. We have been working hard for weeks but it all comes down to the last minute preparations.

We have been having a great study on the earth and early exploration - the kids seem to really enjoy learning about how different people live and how things have changed over time. We are in the middle of a book about a little Jewish boy who lived in Poland - he tells of the hard times he and his family went though. The kids don't know what to think about what some kids have went though and I think it is making them some what realize how blessed they are.

Homeschooling is such a blessing.
I can spend time with my kids and do things we would not have time to do if they attend PC. I general we have a great time learning and laughing together. (we have our moments that are not so great but we keep pressing on and before long we are laughing again.) I couldn't image going back to getting up early and sending them to school and not seeing them again until the afternoon.
God is so good!

On another note Kenny is having surgery on his left shoulder on Nov.14th. It has been a big change around here going from him being in LA for 4 wks and now he will be home about 15 wks. Please pray for us that we will grow closer as a family during this time. His boss has been great but there are still a few things that need to be worked out - where he had this same surgery last year (only the other shoulder) his time is short we are praying that he will have enough time to last all 15 wks. Knowing that God is in control and will supply our every need gives me great comfort.

Thanks for checking on us,
Donna

Busy times!!

Well it's been a while - We have been busy, busy, busy !!!
Soccer is almost over and we hope things will be settling down soon. The kids have really enjoyed playing a new sport and they have learned alot.
We have loved the weather lately and tried to be outside as much as we can. Sometime it is hard to just do the things that you want because you have so much you have to do.
As the weather changes so will our schedule - we will have more time at home to spend together. I love this time of year - we can relax more and enjoy the season.
We have started our History lessons and the kids seem to really enjoy learning and we are having fun with it.
Well that's all the time I have - we are off to another soccer game - wish us luck!!

Thursday .........

Well today I actually feel like we accomplished alot - We got up early to do some odd errands and was at the Library by 10:15. Afterwards we came home done a quick 30 min. clean-up (we seem to get more done that way than saying Ok today is cleaning day and do it all at one time.)
Then we caught up on some school work, ate lunch and some friends came to play. I love when friends come because the kids can play and I can talk to an adult. lol The kids had a great time playing outside, eating ice cream and playing games.
And tonight Hannah had soccer practice and Brady had a game - one downside to the day is Brady's team lost their 1st game - until now they have been undefeated. Brady doesn't seem to care alot about winning he just loves to be out their learning more about the game and improving as he learns. I am so proud of him he because he has been improving (at least I think he is improving but I don't know much about soccer) more and more. As long as they enjoy playing that's all that matters to me.
Well here I am at the end of another day-time just seems to be flying by. My prayer is that I can slow down and enjoy my kids more while they are still young. The subject came up today about the kids growing up and what their life would be like and all I can do is pray that they are happy and give them a good foundation the Lord will do the rest.
Trusting in the Lord,
Donna

Hello from LA

Well things are moving right along here in the hot state of Louisiana. I am working with a great group of people. We continue to support the people of Cameron parish and the city of Lake Charles. I would tell you more about what I am doing but it is sensitive material. We are also assisting folks from areas of Texas. I am doing fine, missing my family like crazy. I love them and am so grateful that they support me the way they do.

Please continue to keep these people in your prayers. Alot of them have lost everything they have.

Thanks for thinking about me and praying for me.

Kenny
