Daddy's Little Girl !!

Hannah knows how to work her daddy - All she has to do is bat her pretty little eyes and it's all over. Earlier today Kenny had to return a rake we had borrowed to our neighbor and Hannah taged along. They have a tree swing in there front yard and Hannah batted her eyes and said "Daddy I would love to have a swing like that." So I got dragged outside in the cold (because Kenny can't use his left arm) to put up a swing. We had a great time and she loves it!
So here's her swing........

I'm sure there will be lots of swinging

done over the next few weeks COLD or not !!

God Bless,

Donna

I think I've lost my mind - We bought a Wii !

I don't know what came over me yesterday. Kenny and I went Christmas shopping in Murfreesboro and came back with a Wii. We have been talking about it over the past week but I thought I could make it through the "We want a Wii stage !!" But I didn't.

It's going to be getting colder soon and the kids will need something to keep them a little active when they can't go outside. This sounded like a great reason to get a game, but we have already had arguing and tears - we have already threatened to return it.

They have been playing better the last little bit though, I'm hoping it will become a treat that they will work for and enjoy. We had to set some rules :
1. If you give me a hard time over doing your school work - no Wii.
2. Hannah made a Wii Card for each of them and we taped them by our school table - if I have to take down their Card - their will be no Wii for them the rest of the day.

I think Kenny is enjoying as much or more than the kids! lol

I've never wanted a game system and I've held out for 8 or 9 yrs. now so I guess we will see how it goes. I know Brady and Hannah love playing and it's good for them to learn to share and get along - I just hope this helps (not make it worse.)

One thing I've learned over the past few years is "Never say Never." Because when I do I'm asking for it to happen.

"I never want to have a game system" - Oh but now I have one!

Hannah and Ashleigh's Sleepover!

Last night Hannah's Best Bud spent the night. They play so well together. Ashliegh is 4 so that's one reason Hannah loves playing with her because she acts like her mommy. They played tea party and dolls. This morning they helped Kenny make everyone pancakes. We made a Thankful Wreath with their picture in the middle. Here's some pictures.............
Today Hannah and I spent the day together. I love it when I can just spend time with one child and do things with just them. We took Ashleigh home and then we were off to Jalynn's Birthday Party. We had a great time playing , eating cake and ice cream and hangin out! After that we went to our local Craft Fair-its becoming a tradition for us to go every year. We don't usually buy much but we have a great time walking around checkin out all the great ideas and talented people. And to top off the day we went to Wal-mart. (My favorite place. Ha! Ha! - I try to avoid it as much as I can.) We took way to long and spent way to much - see why it's my not so favorite place. Now we are relaxing at home - this is the best time of the day. When all the running is over and things are settling down. We can get comfortable and just spend time together.
Oh, Kenny and Brady hung out and watched FOOTBALL all day!
Spending time with family is the best - do it as much as you can!

Thank You

I just wanted to extend a personal Thank You to each and everyone that has had a part in my recovery. I knew going in what this entailed and how difficult the recovery was. I have to agree with Dr. Johns when he said that he thought shoulder surgery was one of the toughest to get over.

The motions that a shoulder does are remarkable when you stop and think about it. A knee moves one way, an elbow moves one way, hips have a little more range of motion but a shoulder moves in so many different ways. I have been blessed with a fantastic doctor, because he has repaired both of my shoulders in under 1 1/2 years. The recovery is 3 months and alot of physical therapy but the last thing I want to do is tear it up again as bad or worse than it was to start with.

There is significant pain, but it is well worth it when recovery is over. So Thank You to each of you for all of your thoughts, prayers and gifts of food and cards. I truly do love all of you and appreciate everything.

God Bless Each of you,

Kenny

Brady loves being my helper. Today we volunteered at the local Samaritan's Purse Drop off center. We have had a great time putting our boxes together, working with the Homeschool Group Packing Party, and helping out at the drop off center. This is a great minstry and we look forward to it every year.

Update on Kenny's surgery.

Today Kenny had to go for his post surgery visit. He is doing great! The PT said he was doing better than most are weeks after surgery. We are so thankful he is doing so well. Here's some pictures of him hangin out at home with the youngins.
Even with a trip to Murfreesboro we still had a great learning day. We continued reading "A Secret Garden", worked on our Bible Verses, took math quizzes and had lots of fun.

OCC Christmas Play

I am so proud of all the kids that worked so hard on this play.
Several area church's came together Friday Night for a special time of giving - it was great.

I love these type of activities that help teach my children values and the gift of giving. They were so excited to be a part of this play.

Here's some pictures - it was very dark during the play so I didn't get many good one but here's the ones I got.

God Bless and Merry CHRISTmas to all,

Kenny's Surgery

Well we are back from Murfreesboro and Kenny is doing great. Thanks to all the prayers his surgery went fine and he is expected to recover rather quickly.
Tonight is the OCC Shoebox Play that the kids have been working on for weeks Kenny is feeling good so I think he will be able to go. The kids will be so excited to see that he is doing well enough to get out and see there play. I am so thankful for a flexible schedule so that at times like this the kids can take a break for school work and so can I. It makes it less stressful to know that we can just take a break and pick back up next week. Well I better see if Kenny needs anything -He seems to be resting comfortable - and doing well.
Thanks again for all the prayers,
God Bless,
Donna

The start of a new week!

As we get things started this Monday morning I look at my to do list and wander "How will we be able to get everything done this week?" With Kenny's Dr.'s appt. on Tues. and surgery on Friday and all the other things in between how will we be able to get any school work done? This is one of those times (like so many others) that make homeschooling great!! Even with so much going on we can take care of Kenny and still get a few days of school work in. Lately we have grown closer and the kids are doing great.
I am really looking forward to the holidays. With so many things to do and places to go it can get a little crazy but over the past few years we have really slowed down and tried to enjoy the season. It goes by so fast so we try to slow down and take some special time celebrating the true meaning of the season. With all the food, gifts, parties and more it is easy to get caught up in the business of the season I pray we will slow down and see past all that and really celebrate CHRISTMAS.
Love to you and yours,
Donna

Hannah and Brady

at Rocks

Bible Character Dress up!!

Even thought this was a few weeks ago I just loved this picture. Things have been very busy around here and I'm alittle behind on some things. Even though we tend to keep busy all the time with church, homeschooling, family and the HS group I hope to do better as the cold weather is coming because we will be home more.

I love the holidays. In the past we have picked a unit study about Christmas to do for the month of December. This year we are going to be learning about the Names of Jesus and Songs of the Season. We are going to make our own tree ornament's and other decorations. I am really looking forward to the spending time with my family making memories and having fun together. With Kenny being off work through the holidays we will be able to do more as a family and that is such a blessing.

Other work needs to get done so I'm off to work on some Co-op papers, Shoebox fixing and whatever times allows me to work on before time for church. The kids are at play practice so it's quite around - I don't know if I work better with or without them here. lol

Thanks for checkin' on us and please keep us in your prayers,

Donna
